Major Russian Assaults Disrupt Power In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks come after periods of air raids in the area, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
