The team Veterans Over 35s are based in southern Manchester and compete in the Cheshire Vets League Premier Division.

The roster this season features nine ex- top-flight footballers, with a total nearly 1,800 top-flight appearances.

The high-profile team also contains 222 top division goals and over 320 global appearances.

They feature Papiss Cisse, who notched 37 scores in 117 games for Newcastle United after joining them for nine million pounds from Bundesliga side SC Freiburg in 2012.

Cisse had his first appearance for the team in their most recent home game against defending title holders Collegiate Old Boys and scored all six goals in a 6-2 win - including a 32-minute first-half hat-trick.

"That's a bit different but then, I love sprinting and just go inside - I'm not defending that much," he said.

"I tell my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"The running is what I'm seeking. It's good fun."
